EFR Barcode Implementation Timelines
EFR has adopted a two-phase
implementation timeline for Shipping Container Codes.
- October 31st, 1998:
- All foodservice manufacturers should assign U.P.C. numbers to items and
SCC-14 numbers to cases no later than October 31st, 1998. In addition, by
this date the standardized numbers should appear on all price lists and
order sheets provided to participating distributors.
- October 31st, 1999:
- All foodservice manufacturers will apply scannable barcode symbols, in
accordance with ECCC specifications, on all shipping containers by no later
than October 31st, 1999
